Why do we assume people who may not have as many things or as much money as we have are not happy. If some of these people appear to be happy, we say that they have accepted their lot in life. Sometimes we believe that there is much more for these people. Usually those who are making these judgments or observations have a lot of stuff and maybe even have a lot of money but are not happy.
By no means, am I saying that you cannot be happy surrounded by beautiful things and able to buy things and go places without looking at price tags. I am just saying things are not deal breakers to happiness.
I have friends that I love and love me. I have loving family. Not everyone in my family is loving. I do not let those members keep me from being happy. I live in a beautiful, peaceful and loving home surrounded by people who care about one another. I love my neighbors. I did not say that this neighborhood is perfect and without problems, I am saying that I enjoy living here and that makes me happy. I am not rich by some standards but I am very comfortable. I am respected and I feel worthwhile. I am able to share and give back to those who do not have as much as I have.
Happiness is our natural state of being. There are many difficult times that most of us go through. Just know at the end of that experience, you can experience happiness. As I write these thoughts, I realize that I am grateful for everything that I have. Gratitude is the key to happiness.
Meditation: contemplate on, I do not focus on outer riches. I look within where all resources are. Take 3 deep cleansing breaths and go into the silence for at least 3 minutes. Lovely LadyFran
